After more than 30 years of supporting artists in their endeavors in the production community, naturally a desire to have a larger role in content creation was inevitable. From that desire the idea for NextMissiun was born. As veterans of the post audio business, Cory, Jamie and Bryen’s focus has always revolved around providing the best service they could, gaining the trust and friendship of directors, producers and production companies along the way. Over time, that trust evolved into new opportunities to have a much deeper role in creating new and interesting content. Forging a company with that goal in mind was the logical next step for the long-time friends in their desire to provide different levels of support to their creative partners than they ever had before. In keeping with their driven personalities it wasn’t just a next step, but a mission. The NextMissiun.

In the simplest terms NextMissiun is an entertainment company specializing in films, television, podcasting and more. Working with some of their partners in the industry, NextMissiun has set about creating an Illinois Entertainment Ecosystem. While that sounds like a lofty goal, to the NextMissiun team it was an exciting, long time coming, challenge that they were eager to undertake. Using the Illinois Film Tax Incentive as the centerpiece, providing the financial means for artists to realize their projects, has been an important first step in NextMissiun’s journey. Moving forward, NextMissiun has set its sights on not only helping content creators with their projects in Illinois but in the midwest and beyond. Creating ideas of their own is also something the team aspires to. Narrative podcasts, web series, documentaries and films are all in development at NextMissiun.
The Partners

Cory Coken
Cory has been around the film industry practically since birth. His father, Ric, was a long time Chicago staple in the post audio business. Cory has taken that influence and passion and turned it into a 30+ year career as a sound designer, mixer and business owner. For the last few years a different passion has emerged with the idea of helping filmmakers realize their dreams of making films and content. Through strategic financing and reinvestment, Cory, along with Jamie and Bryen have helped many filmmakers bring their projects to reality. Taking the knowledge a step further with the creation of NextMissiun, they are on the verge of creating and telling their own stories in unique ways.

Jamie Vanadia
Jamie has been a noise maker since he was a child. Being a drummer isn’t just something he does, it is something he loves and it is a part of who he is. Jamie brings that same passion and inspiration into every project he works on as a sound designer, mixer and owner. Much like Cory, Jamie’s passion for the industry has evolved into wanting to help filmmakers realize their projects. Always with an eye towards technology, Jamie is eager to tell stories in different ways that stretch rules of conventional storytelling. NextMissiun is the logical extension of those passions.

Bryen Hensley
With over 30 plus years in the film, television and sound industries and having worked for a number of post companies over the years, Bryen learned a great deal about the business and its inner workings. Cory and Jamie invited Bryen to join Noisefloor their company in 2017 and the 3 quickly formed a tight bond. After becoming an owner in 2020 the conversation quickly turned to growing the business outside of the confines of post audio. NextMissiun quickly came to fruition and with it a new trajectory was born for the 3 partners.
Joint
The three friends have a storied path as friends and business partners in the Chicago post and production audio world. Wanting to expand their creativity outside of their normal work the three partners hit upon the idea of NextMissiun and the role they could play in helping filmmakers and storytellers create their vision and bring them to life. Over the last several years, the three have played pivotal roles in bringing those projects to fruition. Not resting there, they have set about creating their own projects in the narrative podcasting space, films and other mediums. Always with an eye toward technology and unconventional storytelling methods, NextMissiuns goal is to be a fearless leader in helping people tell their stories in unique ways. What will set NextMissiun apart from other entertainment companies? Being available. Answering the phone, responding to emails will be paramount to the success of NextMissiun. Losing the gatekeepers is one of the ways in which NextMissiun hopes to be different from other creators.
